Casual Food and Beverage Assistant

Our team is a huge part of what makes Bridgewater great, and we’re looking for more brilliant people to join our Food and Beverage team as Casual Food and Beverage Assistants and support us over the festive period.

Now in its sixth year, our popular Glow event transforms the garden into a magical light experience for our visitors. We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic and experienced F&B Assistants to join our team across our café, garden and mobile catering units, serving cakes, hot food and hot drinks to our visitors.

You’ll be a confident and positive team player who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. As Glow is a special Christmas event, we want every visitor to have a memorable, enjoyable experience, and you’ll play an important part in helping us make that happen.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be 18 years of age or over, as the role involves serving alcohol.
• Have essential experience in food and beverage service.
• Have a strong understanding of food hygiene and food safety, with excellent attention to detail when handling, preparing and serving food.
• Be committed to working in accordance with food safety legislation, hygiene procedures and the RHS’s food safety standards.
• Take pride in maintaining clean, safe and hygienic food preparation and service areas.
• Have excellent customer service skills and enjoy interacting with a wide range of visitors.
• Have a positive, friendly and enthusiastic approach.
• Be comfortable working as part of a busy team in a fast-paced environment.
• Be happy working outdoors, including at night and in cold winter weather. Outdoor clothing will be provided, but you should be prepared for outdoor working conditions.
• Be available to work shifts throughout the Glow event, which runs from 25 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Successful candidates will be required to start in late October/early November to attend induction and complete training shifts before Glow begins.
• Seasonal staff are required to work over the Christmas and New Year period, including key dates throughout Christmas week and New Year, so availability during this period is essential. We are closed on Christmas day.
• Be able to work until 9pm on a minimum of three occasions per week and have your own reliable means of getting home after late shifts.

Shift times will vary, as Glow operates Monday–Sunday, including evenings, so flexibility is important.
